When it was first published in 1985, Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale had a huge impact and has never been out of print. Avril Horner will be looking at what prompted Atwood to write such a powerful dystopian novel and exploring why it suddenly seems to have fresh relevance in the twenty-first century.

The ticket price includes a cream tea.
