Alis Hawkins is the author of the Teifi Valley Coroner historical crime series. Set in West Wales in the 1850s and beginning with None So Blind, the series follows blind investigator Harry Probert-Lloyd and his chippy assistant, John Davies, as they investigate murders that people would rather ignore. The second book in the series, In Two Minds was released in May this year. Alis grew up speaking Welsh in Cardiganshire, read English at Oxford University and works for the National Autistic Society in Monmouthshire. Her first novel Testament was published by Macmillan.
Anna Mazzola’s debut novel was The Unseeing, and her second novel, The Story Keeper, also set in the 1850s, is a sizzling tale of a very different kind of landscape – a story of folk tales, disappearances and injustice, set on the Isle of Skye. Anna studied English at Pembroke College, Oxford, before accidentally becoming a human rights and criminal justice solicitor.
